We are positioned to do this based on the field-based scientific research that we have initiated in more than 40 countries, in distressed regions and with armed groups and supporting populations, to understand under what conditions people take costly actions. Corresponding research also has been conducted on the internet and social media across five continents with many diverse cultures and languages. Collectively, the research results provide cognitive and behavioral frameworks for analyzing and managing human action in zones of conflict, and for policy adoption and consumer decision making.
